It has been one crazy month and while it has been fun I feel like I can finally sit down, relax, and breathe! In a one short month I have thrown 3 parties, had two sick kids, princess events right and left, valentines day, a weekend get away and on top of it had our huge annual Y fundraiser. But I would do it all over again for the great memories that were formed!
We kicked off the month with my Dad’s 60th Birthday celebration. We celebrated the evening with his friends at The Vine in Iowa City. The party was supposed to get over around 9 and let’s just say we didn’t leave close until midnight. The best part of his birthday was his present. My sister, mom, and I contacted people from all decades of his life and had everyone write a memory or note to him. We then presented him with a stack of 60+ letters of memories for his 60th birthday. He didn’t say much but his face said it all as he was reading the letters!
Next up was princess event #1: Princess Breakfast. Each year the puts on a Princess Breakfast event and it was spectacular. Not only did the little girls get to eat breakfast with the princesses but got to spend time with each of them getting their nails and make up done, doing a million crafts including making headbands, crowns, and wands, and playing games. Peyton’s friend Hannah joined in on the fun and the two girls were in awe and loving everything princess and glittery.
Then later that afternoon was Kendall’s party which you can read all about here
Then the next day was Sophia the First show at Wells Fargo.
Valentines Day was just around the corner and the girls brought these gifts for their Valentine’s Day party at Karmen’s. Jake and I celebrated by having a weekend away skiing up in Dubuque. We dropped off the girls at my parents and spent the day on the slopes. Well I did at least, Jake who’s it was his first time skiing managed to sprain his ankle so he spent the second half of the afternoon in the lodge with a beer!
One week later was my sister-in-laws baby shower which you can find here
And to round out that evening was the Daddy Daughter Dance that was put on by the Waukee after prom. It was absolutely adorable to see the Daddy’s and little girls get all dressed up and go out to do something together just them and a great tradition to start. Jake and Peyton had some company with friends. The girls and Daddy’s danced, ate cupcakes and popcorn and had a great time together.
While Peyton’s social calendar was filled to the max Kendall was as busy as ever crawling around the house, pushing her car around and maneuvering around furniture. She is standing on her own and just waiting for her to take that first step. The girl knows what she wants and will scream until she gets it! She loves to do everything her big sister does so when Peyton gets a headband Kendall does as well…when Peyton puts on her dress up shoes, Kendall wants hers on as well.
It was a great February but I am exhausted just tying this recap! So here is to an even better March!
